HISTORY OF THE ACADEMY OF SAINT JOHN
LA SALLE GREEN HILLS SUPERVISED
LA SALLE SUPERVISION GUARANTEES ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE. Inspired by the services it renders to all supervised school throughout the Philippines, the LASSO Office was created as a supervising entity to assure the school owners of management expertise in the area of academics, administration, financial operation and spiritual formation.
Mrs. Josefina A. Pascual and Mrs. Cirila N. Mojica, two well-known figures who are successful in managing a school were once again motivated and encouraged to open a new La Salle Supervised School in Sta. Clara, General Trias, Cavite. Such idea was conceived as a result of the corporate problem and the never-ending dispute in a former La Salle supervised school that finally brought confusion and havoc in the said community. Obliged and compelled with the noble task of providing justice, means of living and uplifting the morale of the teachers who met an unfortunate luck last September 20,2002, the two were persuaded by the clamor of the parents, supporters and pro-LASSO teachers to continue what La Salle started in General Trias, Cavite on May 8, 1965.
Alarmed with the impending loss of the La Salle Supervision which they both thought of leaving it as a legacy to the youth, Mrs. Pascual and Mrs. Mojica together with their respective families were convinced to continue their mission of spreading quality education inspired with the Lasallian spirit of being CHRISTIAN, COMPASSIONATE, CONFIDENT, COMPETENT AND COMMITTED.
On November 11, 2002 (Monday), an informal meeting was held at La Salle Green Hills wherein Br. Bernard S. Oca FSC, President of La Salle Green Hills formally accepted the proposal of the Pascual-Mojica families to put up a TRUE and GENUINE La Salle Supervised School in General Trias. Hence, November 11, 2002 marks the birth of General Trias Cavite Academy of Saint John La Salle Green Hills Supervised.
Through God's will and guidance, planning, preparation and brainstorming sessions were conducted. The collaborative efforts and zealous desire of the faculty and staff who were supporting the Lasallian supervision was a big blessing for it paved the way for the initial operation of ASJ.
With the urgent demand and insistence of the parents, students and pupils, and Pro-LASSO faculty, namely: Mrs. Daisy T. Romero, Mr. Nestor S. Lontoc, Mr. Richard R. Pineda, Ms. Evangeline T. Sipat, Mrs. Evelyn S. Abundo, Mrs. Victoria C. Gallardo, Mrs. Rubirosa G. Manguera, Mrs. Emelyn S. Basilio, Mrs. Aileen V. Posadas, Mrs. Rechell T. Pineda, Mrs. Asuncion G. Ison, Mr. Alejandro N. Mojica, Ms. Eva V. Blancaflor, Mrs. Jocelyn R. Nocon, Mrs. Rosalia A. Magpantay, Mr. Glicerio Dohinog, Mrs. Olivia A. Sulat, Mr.Armando D. Ison, Mrs. Ma. Ruby R. Tan, Mrs. Emelida A. Duque, Ms. Grace M. Sañada, Ms. Leticia F. Pascasio and Mrs. Judith P. Lataza, ASJ is serving its clientele in a full-blast operation from nursery to fourth year. Thus, the Academy of Saint John was borne out of the tumult that beset the once peaceful academic community of a neighboring school, but just like what St. John quoted in Chapter 12:24, “I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.”
